Bought to replace the bearings in the bottom brackets on several of my bikes. For some reason I figured stainless steel bearings would last longer. In fact, everything is exactly the opposite. If it were high quality stainless steel that was harder than regular bottom bracket steel, it would cause the bottom bracket to wear out quickly. Instead, on my main bike, the Schwinn Hybrid, I had to re-tighten the bottom bracket almost every day! As soon as it was disassembled, it turned out that the supposedly stainless steel balls dissolved. It's hard to get close-up pics, but I'm attaching one that shows how bumpy and bumpy the ball bearing has become now, probably after less than 300 miles. From now on I only buy normal steel ball bearings, if you buy them, they are guaranteed to fail.
