I had to replace my stained chair covers. Normally I would re-tighten them, which is either expensive or time-consuming. With them, I could simply unscrew the pads, place the covers on the original fabric, and screw the pads back on. My chairs are wider on one end, and while they stretch a bit, I think I'll eventually go back and staple together the pieces that need to be pushed back to make sure they're secure. Please note that you cannot pull the straps too hard or they will break. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. UPDATE: I used my $15 pad stapler to attach the lid. Ideal.
