Last winter my wife and I moved to an area with direct access to snowmobile trails. Sometimes we have to drive down a snow cleared road to get to the trail. Instead of sledding on pavement and grinding carbides (our tracks don't have cleats), we attach the front wheels to the skis and cruise down the road slowly and effortlessly! They easily cope with small bumps and stones and continue to work, work, work. I like to have a few extra cables on hand in case they might break if I accidentally hit a pothole or something. The good guys at Extreme Max quickly sent me some extra cables. I can tell you that the cables have NEVER broken after a season of regular and consistent use. Of course, by adding a track when I put the sled away for the season, I can easily get the sled to where I need to be in and around the garage. That's the real deal. Don't buy anything else to save a few bucks.
