Mine came with pompoms in a bag. One latched normally, the other didn't latch at all, the bolt hole was crooked. We were going on a trip which I ordered a hat for so I sewed pom poms onto the hat so I didn't have to return it. It was also well made, not cheap, fit well and was warm. Cute as can be, but if you're ordering a note for yourself you may need to sew on the pompoms to keep them secure. I find it funny not to wear a hat without pom poms, because in that case there should be silver buttons on the head.
