Let me first start off with this boat is fast. Alot faster than I would have thought a RC boat could be. That being said, it is also fun to play with. I spent a good couple hours with it in my swimming pool. It is easy to learn. It charges the batteries, yes batteries as in 2, via a USB charger. It does take a little bit of time to charge the batteries, but thats where it's nice to have the second battery. Now this boat does require a little bit of maintenance. And this is where it is not quite suitable for a kid. You do need to take it apart to grease the shaft occasionally. And it can be a little tedious. But if you have a little bit of common sense, it should be no problem. It does come with an extre propeller blade, and nut just in case you break or loose one. It also comes with a little stand that you can display the boat on if you are not using it.I highly recommend this if you want to get into the RC boat craze. It is a good place to start. Just be sure not to run this one in a lake or pond. It is water cooled, so you don't want to clog up the internal pipes.
