update. I use tripods every day. I have both brands. Both tripods were used in Colorado. We loaded the tripods into the truck and the next time I pulled them out, Manfrotto broke the part blocking the leg. I have no idea if it got caught somewhere while loading or what. It's okay, I thought, a guarantee. Manfrotto was willing to cover the warranty but no US parts. They said I can ship it and it may take 3 months for them to send it back to me. I asked for a replacement or even a lower price. They wouldn't. I haven't seen the tripod since, and that was 5 months ago. I gave up. I know Manfrotto is known for their quality tripods and again this one seems to be we have no idea how the clip broke. It left me with a bad taste personally compared to Manfrotto, so I guess I won't own it anymore. First review - this is an amazing tripod. I have a different brand and have no complaints other than that it was designed for a different type of work. This is very versatile. I'm considering selling my old one and upgrading to just this one (ordering a second one) so all my quick mounts are the same and all lenses and cameras come with a quick release plate.
