I read the reviews very carefully and was a bit skeptical about this product. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved this case when it arrived! Although this jacket is made of synthetic materials, it looks very nice and is quite durable. While some people want an ultra-thin and stylish case, I'm interested in protecting my device from wear and tear while traveling and having a secure workspace on my lap or on a desk. This case offers both. I believe the case's training thickness will protect my iPad in my bag without an additional cover. (It does NOT protect against liquid damage, which I knew before buying - I'm also not sure if the case protects against extreme drops - it will most likely prevent minor damage when closed). I like the elastic strap closure over the magnetic closure as it doesn't accidentally pop open in my pocket and damage the screen. (I read a review of another product that said prolonged exposure to magnets in its case prevented the ability to press on areas of the screen where the magnets were, but the LOTS of product info on the cases says that the magnets will NOT cause damage or screen use with effects - caution never hurts!The sleep function works well on the screen protector as do the fins that support the screen.Buyers should note that when using the iPad in portrait mode it is best to use the cutout closest to the edge of the case. The angle of the inner notch in portrait mode does not adequately support the length of the screen. In landscape mode, both notches hold the screen well. My only wish in this case is that the pen holder is more secure. I Bought a separate iPencil case to hold my pencil when traveling as I don't trust the safety of my pencil in my pocket when it's on the outer edge of the case. I still use the handy elastic loop when actively using the device to keep my pencil from rolling off and getting lost in the pillows! I hope you enjoy your work as much as I do!
