Review on πŸ›οΈ Wilton Scruffs Pet Box Bed by Jennifer Wilson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fluffier than expected - choose larger

My cat is stretched out and especially likes to sleep on its back. It is about 22 inches long from head to tail and weighs about 12-15 pounds. I bought him a large one and it fits him perfectly. As I write this, he's lying in this thing from corner to corner, completely in a coma. The fluffy lining reminds me of cat fur, so I'm sure cats will feel like little kittens snuggling up to their mother again. What could make him feel safer than that? The Scruff brand is well known on the UK website Revain as it is a British brand (sold for Β£40 on the UK website which is almost $60) but is fairly new in the US. This pet bed (technically a dog bed) appears to be well constructed and softer than expected. It's machine washable which is great. I've read at least one Revain review that said this bed isn't soft on the bottom, but that wasn't my experience. It has more than enough padding for my cat - it seriously looks like a pillow on the bottom - and it immediately roused his kneading instinct. There are several disadvantages. At first he didn't like the smell. I don't think he had a particularly off-putting smell, he just didn't smell like him and he was a snob. So I put a towel on his old bed for a few days, then I put the towel on this bed and he immediately lay down. After a few days I took off the towel. Now that he smells it, he loves it. He also enjoyed playing in the giant box it was in. Another downside is that this bed looks very soft and expensive and I feel compelled to give it a diamond collar to match. He doesn't even wear a collar, which seems like a waste. After all, sometimes I stick my iPhone in this bed and let it watch Paul Dinning's bird videos on YouTube; he likes it very much; Now I worry that he spends too much time on social media. Maybe I can sign him up for an online therapy course or something. Edit: January 6, 2017. Almost a year later, he's still doing fine. Looks like new. I've washed and dried it several times (tip: put a tennis ball or two in the dryer with it to disperse the lint. Not sure if it's necessary, but I did and it worked out fine). The cat loves this bed. He has three main sleeping places, but that's the only one he runs to and purrs when he lies down. He loves it SO. It stayed soft and plush with daily use and lots of kneading, far exceeding my expectations.TL;DR. Buy it and grow big to spread.
