This is my third 10x triple magnifier. I don't have the first anymore, but I have the second. I always check my loupe for distortion by using it to see parallel lines. My first one that I lost had better optics. It has less distortion but the magnifier is smaller. This BelOMO magnifier distorts lines by bringing parallel lines closer together at the edges of the field of view. This is the opposite of my other magnifier, which expands the space between parallel lines at the edges of the viewport. Both distort, but this BelOMO loupe distorts less. However, the field of view appears less bright. I wonder if the black color of this magnifier contributes to that. The strap attached to the magnifier is different from the picture. From the product image you can see that the tape can be completely detached from the magnifying glass. The one I received has a strap that cannot be fully disengaged unless I use a screwdriver to remove one of the two screws. There is a clip at the top. When removed, the magnifying glass has a short piece attached (as shown in the picture I took). If I had a choice, I would prefer the lace shown in the product image.
