Too many connectivity issues on Series S

I bought these for the Xbox Series S and to be honest they sounded pretty good when I found some settings I liked but unfortunately this headset has it for me doesn't work as it has some pretty serious problems. Pros: - You can download the app straight to your Xbox to play around with the equalizer settings and find the sound you want. - The controls on the headset are great (volume, game/chat, mute, EQ preset button) - The microphone seems great as far as sound goes. Friends said I sounded cleaner than usual and I thought so too. - No dongle or cable required, it connects directly to your Xbox using its own wireless protocol (however, that's where the main problem lies) Cons: - The microphone is just there. It can't be removed, it can't be flipped, it can't be removed. I knew this was happening, but I didn't realize how awkward it would be. You can bend it a bit, but it still gets really annoying when you don't want to use it. In terms of comfort, they are ok. I've been using the HyperX headset for a while and it's much more comfortable than this headset for long gaming sessions, at least for me. Of course it depends on the person but I've been wearing them for a while and it's starting to tire me. All in all not the worst, but certainly not the best. - Now to my main problem, and it's huge. Connection problems became noticeable after a short time. It seemed that every 10-20 minutes the sound became distorted and almost completely disappeared, sometimes for seconds, sometimes even for minutes, and then finally returned to normal for a while. Then it is repeated. It was incredibly frustrating and the only thing that helped was turning the headset off completely and then turning it back on. But that's always happened. Yes, I updated the firmware. And I was close to my Xbox because I'm sitting very close to it, so I know there's no range issue at all. If you check out the forums, Reddit etc, many people will have this issue when it comes to wireless headsets that use Xbox wireless protocol (no dongles or anything like that). Who knows when and if MS or the headset manufacturers will regulate that. I'm not sure if this connection issue occurs on XB1/XB1X, but I know it will occur on next-gen consoles. So if you have a Series S/X I would steer clear of headsets like this that use Xbox wireless protocol until there is a definitive solution with proof, otherwise you could be extremely disappointed.

Pros
  • Big selection
Cons
  • Dull hardware
