Good idea, poor engineering, poor fit and finish, misleading image.

Item looks good and quality looks ok but fit and finish was not what was expected. First of all, don't expect it to be completely glossy black like in the photo. It is not. It's more of a matte finish, it's anodized rather than powder coated. Second and most importantly, the cover didn't fit my seat and the screw didn't match the cover. I first removed the double sided tape from the bottom of the case so it was flush (I can't imagine anyone wanting to tape it). Then I put it on the tongue of the seat. It fitted the sides well, meaning it didn't push too far into the seat itself to cause problems, but side-to-side it didn't go past the seat's tongue. It's like the seat tongue clearance is STRAIGHT WIDE across the width of the seat tongue so it couldn't fit in any way. I took out my dremel and tried to widen the groove but it was useless because I needed a CNC bit and I didn't have one. Another fit issue was the screw in the cap. The stud has a collar and the cap has a recess that the collar fits into so the stud sits flush with the cap. Again, the recessed area in the cap does NOT match the bolt shoulder diameter. You have to use force to get the screw to sit flush. Then you have to remove the screw with pliers to remove it, which will destroy the finish. In general it was a good idea and the picture looks nice, but this product is a pass-through. For reference, it was purchased for the stock 2015 CVO Road Glide seat.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Thin
