Ideal for Burley, gives a little more rear bolt spacing

Ideal for Burley. The angle gives a little more clearance for the rear pins, which is extremely useful on smaller diameter wheels like 20" e-bikes and bicycles. Longevity doesn't seem to be an issue, although it would be very hard to stress that point. enough to break it before the burley rubber bushing breaks first. Thickness seems pretty good, about as good as the original Burley, which costs almost $30 for a unit. So good value for money too. Will fit all the same axles as Burley and in the highly unusual case that you have anything over 1/2" axle there is enough metal for you to overdrill that axle a little, deburr on a wider hole and then use on the Major can axle. But axles that big are really rare and more common on motorcycles and you will never use this on a motorcycle. It's just a bike.Comes with it's own pin you don't need because the burley trailer has it strapped on and almost never lost but I think it's nice to have them.I can't confirm the differences in steel hardness dictated by the steel grade originally used plus (if) heat treatment was applied.I am willing to bet that if you buy the more expensive Burley it's sturdier, maybe a lot stronger than you need as bikes don't really tow very heavy trailers and twisting just doesn't are so common, plus most of the torsional shock is again absorbed by a Burley trailer hub designed to do just that. So we've got a solid tow hitch that's super cheap and comes with an extra pin, which you probably don't need but is good to have, and has an offset angle that puts you a little further away from things like disc brake calipers. It's a really nice situation. I have bought them many times and will buy them again.

Pros
  • Child seats and cargo trailers
Cons
  • Faulty
