Great to have this product available on Revain Prime! Fresh Step crystals have become an all-time favorite since their introduction. I remember my mother helping me with the sandpit for my first cat (Siamese)! In the years since 1955 I have tried almost every toilet system/box available. Some of the fabulous cats that have shared my life (I will be 72 on December 27th) have included rescued, newcomer and purebred cats. Persians, with their long, silky coats and beloved native short/long hair, chose Fresh Step when given the choice. Won't irritate paw pads or stick to paws, fluffy tails or buttocks. I find the scent very pleasant (fresh and clean). . . much better than toilet cleaner! A little lady has long hair with a fluffy tail and takes great care of herself (especially after combing it). Now add a tall girl, native short haired calico, so I need junk to share. They have a low rim (lowest tier in the range) triangular tray (available from Revain). Kaliko loves seeing how much filler she can toss around while the other is more concerned about her sleek, puffy ponytail. One bag of filler lasts 3 weeks (change it once a week whether you need it or not) - I use a third of the filler. bags at a time (just right for that 1.5 inch depth) for their box size. Since I have an extra bathroom, her box is in the shower. Guests may need to use the bathroom, but nobody noticed that a decorative shower curtain offers a cat's privacy! For best results, remember to scoop and stir every day. . . Your cats/cats will thank you! Multiple cats? How much time/effort does it take to care for a cat? Eight cats and two large hooded trays. . . too many cats per litter (or just too many cats)? Half a bag for each box and replacing once a week wasn't unreasonable. Three males (neutered) and five females (neutered) had no complaints. Interesting behavior: Males choose one box and females choose another. The boxes were scooped and stirred twice a day. Her boxes were stored in the large bathroom for easy access. Remember that diet and water intake need to be considered. I prefer Science Diet or Iams. Drinking fountains provide easy access to water. It may take a little longer to keep everything clean, but it will keep the cats healthy and happy. Over the years I've found that my cats' personalities are as varied as my friends'.
