floral foam I stopped for environmental reasons (non-degradable, toxic). I don't particularly like using wire mesh, and the mesh doesn't always give the support I need or allow the stems to lean. I use Kenzan a lot, but have a hard time getting curved stems with the ones I have. I read about it on a floral designer's blog and decided to give it a try. I love her. I have both 6 inch and 4 inch. They don't need to be taped shut if they're the right size. Two layers provide good support and I can get the drape and corners I want. Just be careful when inserting from the side where your stems are in the water. This is a learning process. Enjoy.
