The lining is as smooth as silk to prevent your hair from snagging. On the outside, the same silky-soft material effectively repels water. The capacity suits me. I don't have long hair, but my large club of part-curly, part-curly hair calls for large hats of all kinds, including shower caps. The elastic is just right, snug but not constricting the headache. Thin, lightweight material makes the cap easy to fold up for on-the-go use. I appreciate the lack of any ridiculous patterns on the fabric. No shower cap is pretty (at least to me), but this one, plain white with a teal border around the rim, looks pretty tasteful. I also like that the lid is odorless. Doesn't smell of plastic at all like many shower caps. This is a quality product.
