Review on The Power of Kinesio Taping: Expanding Clinical Therapeutic Applications (3rd Edition) by Chris Long

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great guide for clinicians, good pictures, very difficult for a layperson

I swear by kinesiology taping. Over the years he has helped me solve many different problems, helped myself and others. I've had this book for three years now and refer to it regularly. However, I often dismiss the book and just try something new as it is extremely difficult to handle without a clinical understanding of anatomy and various physical diseases. I'm not a doctor, but I have a solid understanding of the human body, particularly the anatomy of the muscles and fascia (injury/disease makes us clinicians). However, I have to look up various terms online to make sure I'm doing the right thing. There is no glossary. Often the instructions are so tight that I just give up and fiddle with the tape to see what the pictures work. Forget asking my roommates for help, which is required for many of the taping procedures in the book. For people who don't understand clinical terminology, this is like being forced to read in a foreign language. So if you are a doctor, you should definitely get this book. If you are a layman you can get this book but be prepared to google a lot!
