Impressions: Flash - very pretty / works great Knife - sharp enough for easy field cooking and eating together. Ferro Rod and Knife Rod (Fire Starter/Spark) - Out of the box, the Ferro Rod and Knife Rod do not spark at all. You'll need to file off the end of the knife tip and give it a proper 90 degree edge. Once this is done the knife shank and ferro rod will spark very well once you get through the initial factory coating on the ferro rod. Ferrotute is still a very practical combination of fork, knife and lighter. This is a well made piece. I've taken it hiking a couple of times and I'm glad I have it around. 4 stars
