They are affordable and suitable for many applications but not what I had in mind. I wanted to use them for recessed lighting in a bathroom renovation. I plugged them into an outlet controlled by a switch. When the switch is on, you can count to 2 before the light comes on. I didn't realize this was an inherent problem with 12V power strips as it takes some time for the adapter to switch from a zero voltage output to a 12V output. I've swapped out various power supplies that I use for the security of my cameras. and there was no difference. As a replacement I would buy a 110V power supply. Unfortunately I cannot return it as I cut out a strip for my application. I'm sure I'll find a suitable use for it elsewhere. In terms of installation I had 4 90 degree turns around the perimeter of the room and had to cut the strips and solder them together with the connecting wires to make a corner. . They're flat and don't spin any better than a piece of tape. The grip wasn't bad, but they were stacked openly. However, I had to be careful to go back to the strip length and apply pressure more than once. I wouldn't have much confidence applying them to a face down situation, but others may have had good results.
