This is a solid, well made work/youth stool. Comes in a long thin box. You put the pieces together. Assembling furniture with your own hands, at the time of assembly you will see the true quality of the item. This is a SOLID chair. If you like the look and style of the product, you won't be disappointed with the build quality. To assemble the product, you need to experiment a little - the instructions are well written, but rather poorly explain where and what element you need. You have to look closely at the small pictures and even then this is a chair that is made to adapt over the course of a child's life, so there are extra holes to reconfigure the chair. I made an assembly video. The biggest problem is that the two dowels are different sizes. You may not notice this and turn the dowels over only to find that the chair does not connect as shown in the pictures. I did this and was stumped for a few minutes because the instructions don't mention different sizes of dowels. Generally a good thing with rather poor instructions.
