Frustrated, I went to the local backbone and bought a used twenty-seven year old genuine Ford sensor. I replaced a new Chinese part with my "new" 27 year old and all problems were solved. No more hesitation, no stumbling under acceleration, no jerky idle and the fuel economy is back to around 40. I will never buy cheap Chinese parts for my car ever again. I had a similar experience with a cheap fuel pump which I quickly replaced with a used genuine Ford pump. No problem. Now I have to buy all the parts I can get from the local so-called junkyard and make sure they are genuine genuine Ford parts. These are only the best details.
