Great thread to start with if you're making an eco switch!

I decided to search my home and replace some items with more sustainable options. I have been an avid user of plastic floss for many years, particularly due to their portability, but I realized that this was a convenience only to me and not to the earth or animals I was exposed to in the process. Regular filament also comes in plastic containers, so while I wouldn't throw away a plastic item as often as I would with a pickaxe, I would still use a plastic item and I didn't feel like it. Instead, I decided to try jars with reusable filament. After some research on different brands I ordered this one. Complaints about other brands of canned floss were that the floss broke with use, was too thick to fit between teeth, and the floss kept falling into the can and having to be fished out each time. I have never experienced that with this brand. The thread stays under the metal blade every time, it never gets in the hole and I don't have to fish it out. When using, the floss easily slides between teeth, even between crowns, does not crumble. I love the taste and I love the portability of the jar and that's what I liked about my old toothpicks. The thread is also made from bamboo, so it's biodegradable, which is an added bonus. Each of the three glasses is individually wrapped so you can give one as a gift if you want. I gifted one to my friend and kept two others, one for home use and one for travel. The only downside I see with them is that you'll probably use up the filament faster than the filament that comes in the plastic bag, and since replacement heads aren't that cheap ($10 for 60 yards on their website), you will They cost more in the long run. It's quite expensive for something as simple as thread, but in animal welfare, the price they pay for our lifestyle is much higher. While I'm only saving a little bit of plastic by switching to canned floss, I'm at least doing something and I'm happy to be able to do my part with this brand.
