Review on Hynes Eagle Backpack Approved Packing by William Turner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

We really didn't think it would work.

But it worked. My wife and I, in our 50's, went on a 10 day trip and were each given a Hynes Eagle backpack. She has 45 liters and I have 40 liters. When they arrived I couldn't imagine it working. Serious. But I was very, very wrong. The 40L backpack is perfect for her back (5'6") to carry my stuff and the 45L backpack is comfortable for mine (6'4"). We've added liners to keep things organized and the pockets have been padded to protect electronics. Well, to be honest we spent a lot of time packing. My wife did a great job finding outfits to mix and match and it was pretty easy. I've even broken the habit of reaching for the topmost items in my closet when packing. We had enough clothes that we could do a 10-day trip to the laundry and still fly back with clean clothes. The biggest advantage was the ease of travel. We laughed as we saw people struggling with their skateboards on the cobblestone streets, trying to get them fit on the trains and being absolutely unhappy on the ride. We actually felt a little guilty as we hopped on and off the trains with a bang and casually walked through Rome, Florence and Sins de Terre with our comfy backpacks. Okay, not so guilty, we felt like rock stars. It was wonderful! These bags may look small, but when packed carefully, they hold more clothes than you might think. They are comfortable to wear for middle-aged people who are not in the best shape for travel. And we are already planning our next trip. It's time to list our rolling suitcases on Craigslist.
