Works well on reptiles and amphibians

I use this to heat my computer desk, it hangs about 4 feet above the desk surface in a 12 inch aluminum reflector made by molding strong aluminum foil around a large bowl becomes. .I have used a 250w heat lamp before but it gave off too much visible light. It does not emit visible light. The heat this generates is more omnidirectional than a heat lamp, so a large reflector is important to direct the heat to my hands and keyboard rather than my face. It will be a warm and cozy desk.
