After placing the filters upside down on a flat surface with a 5 gallon bucket under the drain, I attached the filters very tightly to my garden hose and pressed it firmly against the filter nozzle. As the water drained I rubbed the filters (no scrubber) with my hands and noticed the filter got very slippery and slimy! So I keep running water through the filter until the mucus is washed away.
