I love this umbrella myself. Inexpensive and well made for travel umbrellas. My logic is that folding umbrellas are more complex overall and maybe less durable, so I only use them for traveling and hiking. I think this umbrella is well done and just bought another one (black so I bought it for rain, not photography or general purpose). The first one I bought was a solid white which is understandably hard to find (so I bought 2) - I use it as a diffuser and windscreen on some street shots (nice and safe to pack if you don't need to mount it ). something), much cheaper and much stronger than those that are specially "photo" or in the electronics department. Definitely enough for rain but as some people have complained I'll be careful (half close) if it gets very windy.
