Waterproof and Warm

These gloves are well constructed and warm. The fit is good and the design follows the shape of the hand rather than being completely flat, making hand and finger movements feel natural rather than awkward. I can use my phone's keyboard with these gloves on, although typing is limited to index finger keystrokes. The gloves have a wide flared cuff with an elastic band on the inside of the wrist and a velcro strap on the outside of the wrist to adjust the fit; the cuff protects my jacket sleeve from cold wind. There is also a drawcord on the outer edge of the cuff that can be tightened to keep snow out. The outer shell of the glove is very water repellent, but if you stand in heavy rain for too long (more than an hour) the gloves will start to get wet on your hands. (No breathable fabric is completely waterproof.) However, the insulating material in these gloves helps keep your hands warm, even if the glove gets completely wet. And these gloves wring out easily and dry pretty quickly. The gloves come with a snap buckle to keep the pair together when not in use and each glove has an elastic ski pole strap. (I don't use them for skiing, so I used scissors to cut the elastics and remove them.) Each glove has a small zippered pocket at the top that can hold a flat key or something similarly small. A plastic driver's license or debit card fits inside, but when you stash it in your pocket, the top of the glove becomes too stiff for your hand to make a comfortable fist. These Unigear gloves are carefully designed and meticulously crafted from quality materials. Highly recommended.
