The toe of the shoe has been nicely wrapped in tissue paper. The color is called "brown" but it is actually a dark orange (pumpkin) color as shown in the picture. It's a beautiful fall color, rutabaga-like material that fits as expected. My daughter's feet are narrow and the shoes are usually loose, although the length is good, but they weren't too loose on her. But I wouldn't describe them as "narrow" in any case, but as normal.
