2nd update: ok when I contacted the company they wanted me to send a video showing that I connected it correctly and that the outlet has power. . I went through all the connections about 5 times before getting in touch but after making the video it was too long to send so I had to repeat the video the whole time. About the third time I was in a hurry to make the video shorter and I didn't unplug the cable from the wall before plugging the controller back in, so I don't know why, but it worked in the end. I am giving this information in case someone else encounters this extremely annoying problem. I'm still not sure if I should keep this lantern because I'm afraid it might break down and it was expensive. I will say that now that it works it is perfect for my needs, but time will tell if it can continue to work. (Upgraded from 1 star to 3 because it works but it took quite a long time and I don't think it will continue to work) doesn't work because the reviews are good but got a replacement now and still not on. I followed all the instructions and the light on the plug came on as did the light on the remote control. I couldn't be more upset. I reached out to the vendor for help, and while I wanted it to be a user error situation, I checked every connection, tried multiple exits, pressed every button (just in case there's a passcode - lol), ie if i don't get any news from the company i plan to give a second review as both devices didn't work. If it's fixed or user error I'll update my review as well. First Review: I was so excited to get this light as it was perfect for my small aquascape and the reviews are good. but mine didn't work when I plugged it in. I tried 2 outlets and the light on the adapter came on so I'm hoping it was an accident. I have requested an exchange for a hopefully working one and will update my review if I have a better replacement experience.
