Review on Wine Squirrel: The Ultimate Wine 🍷 Preserving Glass Decanter & Luxury Wine Saver Carafe by Justin Peck

Tried everything, best solution so far

Ok, I like wine with dinner and maybe a glass with some chocolate for dessert while watching TV to relax. The problem is that it would take me several days to drink the whole bottle, and if I ate out or was busy at work and didn't drink anything, it could extend the time between bottles to a week or more, especially if it is was mixed . red and white (white with fish or chicken for dinner, red with dessert). The obvious problem is what to do with the leftover wine, especially red wine, as by days 2 and 3 it starts to really change the flavor. refrigerator) and a floating gate decanter. The floating seal carafe worked well and helped get an extra day or so, but not for extended periods. What I was looking for was something lighter. I heard from the lead sommelier that he used small plastic water/soda bottles (very small) and poured the rest of the wine in, filling them as full as possible and capping them to preserve the unfinished wine as much as possible . It's quite tedious and I need a funnel to fill them. Then I saw this and thought, wow, that's really smart. Why did not I think of this. A bit pricey but even if it helped a bit it's worth the money so I gave it a try. By far the best solution I've found for preserving the flavor of wine over time. I've found it keeps the wine for up to several weeks with little change in flavor (if you carefully remove all or almost all of the air). Probably similar to the sommelier trick above, but with a lot less difficulty. I didn't really have the washer sticking issues that others have reported, I just carefully aligned the handle with the washer in the carafe and was slow to remove it. I found it easy to clean and maintain. So if you can't finish a bottle of wine in 2 days, this is a great solution.
