Rechargeable electric toothbrushes are a rarity so I'm glad I found this XFU. I have owned several Sonicares and Brauns over the years and will never buy them again. Some of mine have died prematurely and I'm tired of buying a new one every year or two. They are deliberately designed so that the battery is soldered in and cannot be replaced by the user. All rechargeable batteries will eventually run out after a certain number of charge cycles, and when that happens the whole pack has to be thrown away. It is bad for the environment and also a waste of money. I love that this XFU toothbrush uses an AA battery. You can use what you like - alkaline or rechargeable (batteries not included). This allows you to use the toothbrush as long as the motor is running. I like the slim design. This is the smallest, lightest and quietest electric toothbrush I've ever used. The handle is plastic and feels very comfortable, but it looks beautiful in red. My only complaints are relatively minor. The head is smaller than the regular toothbrushes we have at home. The ON/OFF button is a little hard to find without feeling it as it is not raised. Plus, it comes in a non-recyclable plastic shell. A cardboard insert would be just as good.
