I really wanted to like this product and was excited to see it because first thing in the morning I like nothing more than a good cup of strong coffee. I confess I've jumped on every bandwagon when it comes to finding the perfect brewing method, from drip to pod to French press. But since we often have power outages, I bought an old-fashioned aluminum cooktop perculator to use on a gas burner back in the day when the pod option wasn't available. And since I love a strong drink, this option worked so well and saved me so much money that it became my main brewing method. The problem was that the perculator would often explode all over the record! I take full responsibility for this as I have since learned how to properly regulate the temperature and time. But never being satisfied, I ordered this decanter by the pour, hoping to simplify the process and get my first cup a little sooner. If you like espresso, I do not recommend this procedure. I'm sure the product itself is fine; great looking solid nice metal basket with tiny holes for fine grinding but it just can't match the strength of percussion (or even pod) coffee. And wait and pour, wait and pour just to get that cup, too much hassle. If you prefer a milder coffee and love the attention to detail this product requires, you'll probably love this one. Not for me, but it would make a nice serving carafe!
