To start, I took an empty cooler with a glass of cool water and tried to see how long it would take to drop the temperature by 5 degrees. it lasted 8 hours. Soda cold 0.38 degrees. it was. but it was so loud. it would drive me crazy in a car or truck anywhere in the car. maybe as a truck or bed cooler that would be fine, but definitely not in a cab
