Review on 🐾 Optimized SturdiBag Large Height-Adjustable Pet Carrier by Dave Brummet

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fits my 11.5 lb miniature JRT and is comfortable

My Jack Russell Terrier is 18" long from tip of nose to base of tail and 16" tall from crown. on the ground. I looked at different brands online and in stores. My dog and I "tried" Sherpa Delta L for the size, and she felt miserable in it. This carrier - Sturdibag (Large) - gives my dog more space. Even if it is not (almost) in full length as in the XL Sturdibag (here it had to "crouch" a bit), it can still turn freely and lie comfortably without restrictions. At first she did not like getting into her bag and tried to escape, but she quickly got used to it and was very calm and comfortable: there is enough space for her in the stretcher, and the pillow is pleasant and comfortable. My carrier was delivered yesterday and I put it together right away. The bars running along the sides of the "badger" had to be bent a bit, but I managed to do this without any problems. The bag is made from durable materials and so far this Sturdibag hasn't suffered a single rip or tear, although my dog tried to rip it to pieces as soon as the carrier came out of the box. I have yet to see how durable the mesh and zippers are and how they can withstand the force of my VERY hard chewing/digging/clawing - I will update. I will also update the review with flight experience (flying 4 hours from southwest in July). So far I am very happy with my purchase. Update: Southwest Airlines wouldn't let me use this airline on my plane, I had to buy their own brand which was much smaller and didn't leave any wiggle room. as my dog and own carrier only fit under the middle seat and protruded a little under the seat when I sat on the island seat - a large Sturdibag would not fit at all. However, I still use my Sturdibag for trips to the vet and as a "nest" for other pets around the house.
