Will this RGB module complete all the RGB lighting fixtures in your home? No, but it could be for most people who need a quick fix for their bedroom, entertainment center, man cave, etc. The spread is just as good as shown in the photos, which is what I was hoping for the most. Transition lighting is fine, it's definitely not overwhelming. I'll say it looks great fading between pure solid colors, but when it creates that "smooth" rainbow effect, you can see why they're $50-60 a set. Personally, I would use them to create background reflections off your walls and large surfaces, rather than as streaks of light displayed openly in your space. The supplied control module is impressive. It's definitely better than one of those cheap wireless remotes you get sometimes. You can also control everything from the smartphone app. anyway via Bluetooth. You can schedule when they turn on and off during the week. There are several devices in this price range that can reliably do this on their own. The custom lighting effects aren't bad; they remind me of the custom lighting on gaming mice and keyboards (good, but not great). There are light effects that other users upload to the Govee mobile app; but the current list of compatible lighting effects is really small. I can compare them to Nanoleaf and the more I study RGB products the better I understand why Nanoleaf is so expensive. I would say buy these instead of the more expensive Hue products. While they're great, I'm still waiting for this company to bring down the insanely expensive RGB lighting - it's very close. I hope Govee continues to push the technology so we can get rid of all those Christmas lights that we put up in our rooms and entertainment centers.
