I bought this primarily to use as a summer blanket for the cooler nights. I was using a regular blanket, but I just don't care for the weight of those, unlike some who want weighted blankets. This is light weight and extremely soft and does the job of keeping me comfortable on the cooler nights without being overheated as I prefer to keep the windows open in good weather, instead of running the ac all the time. In the winter I have a full size plush microfiber blanket that I use with a top sheet, and that's all I need to be comfortable, so I no longer even use the heated mattress pad. The twin size one will likely end up being used by my wife as a throw to keep her warm while watching tv and reading in the winter months.
