This is a nice and lightweight bed for our 55-pound black lab. One of our favorite features is that this bed is easy to move from place to place compared to a memory foam bed because it's so light. We mainly use it on carpet or in the back seat of our pickup where some softness/cushion is already present. However, we sometimes put it on our outside porch in front of the fireplace or in the trunk of my wife's SUV, which shows that our pup doesn't seem to mind using it on a hard surface from time to time! The bed had a non-slip headboard, which is very effective. While we think memory foam beds are better for long-term use on hard floors, this bed has its place. It is inexpensive and easy compared to memory foam beds.
