We regularly buy distilled water for various uses (from an iron to a CPAP water box). Producing more plastic waste every week is bad for the environment. This is the main motivation for us to buy a distillery for ourselves. Additionally, the water produced by this machine only comes in contact with metal and glassware and not plastic, which is another huge plus for this machine. If you're worried about store-bought water in a plastic can, that's an issue you might need to think about in order to buy this machine. The main complaints from my family members about this burner are mainly the size and the noise. The fully assembled machine is a bit roomy on the counter and a bit noisy when running. However, it works as advertised to produce 4 liters of distilled water in about 4 hours. I leave it on in the kitchen all night before bed and the noise doesn't really bother me. It's really very easy to use, just put tap water in the chamber and wait for the product to fall into the jug after running. Automobile. I've done 2 rounds of water treatment but it seems the inner chamber is still pretty clean and no special descaling process is needed yet. However, the metal chamber is quite wide and should be very easy to clean. I hope that buying this burner will reduce the use of plastic (at least in our household) and will pay for itself in the long run.
