We use these for indoor to create a relaxing atmosphere. this. See my size comparisons for an idea. It is suitable for fixtures where the glass or body is placed on top of the bulb where a traditional bulb is used. It is slightly longer than the standard lamp. The flame is yellow rather than orange. This alone makes this lamp more appealing to my eyes as it becomes more realistic. The flicker itself is ok and feels a bit fast. Compared to larger bulbs, flicker has sharper shadows. It does not appear and disappear smoothly and is more conspicuous. If you pair this with another candlelight or turn on another low-light TV, you won't notice. I wonder if the harsher flickering is just due to the smaller size and limitations. Smaller size = compromise? That's not bad, but it doesn't look optimal in the wrong situations either. Again, not many people make this size and results may be the same elsewhere. We're still playing with what works best for us.
