I have been using this style of carabiner to attach tool slings to my weight belt for over forty years. As a former commercial diver and now a recreational diver, I agree with the idea that you attach a string to everything you don't lose while diving, like knives, flashlights, tools, fishing bags, landing nets. These slim carabiners are perfect for the job so they don't snag on line or driftwood. They also easily attach and detach from the D-ring. I was surprised to find them at such a good price.
