Los Angeles weather for the past few days has been around 110-117 F, my central air conditioning compressor has been overloaded and suddenly stopped working, not a single tech was available so I searched portable and found this one. As I plan to use it temporarily, the price was reasonable for me. I received the unit a few days after ordering, it was quite heavy but looked good and was easy to install. There are several options (fan, cold air and dehumidifier) to choose from in the user manual. The unit I ordered for 14,000 BTU was enough for my house, within an hour of running the temperature in my house dropped to 78 F which was enough for my family. Even during work it was quiet. After the setup is complete, you can use the remote control to adjust the settings.
