My Samsung TV works with shorter passive HDMI cables (up to 25ft). However, it doesn't work with my 40ft passive HDMI cable. Roku shows HDCP errors. I bought a 35ft HDMI monoprice active cable to improve the signal strength. The cable is a lot thicker than the 40ft cable I replaced so I figured that would help as well, although the cable is difficult to twist and connect. Unfortunately, the Monoprice active cable has the same flaw as the passive cable and doesn't work with my TV and Roku. In fact, the old cable showed support for 4K in the Roku test, but failed HDCP. The Roku test only showed 1080p for the Monoprice cable. I called Monoprice support to see if there were any known issues with Samsung or Roku but they had no further suggestions other than to return and try a different cable.
