I use this caustic soda mainly for soap making. This scale is very accurate. I tested it with a calibration weight and everything looked fine. It's small because it's for jewelry, but I have a glass tumbler from Walmart that's large and fits well. I also do small sample batches of cosmetics. I was able to mix a .15 ounce tube of lip balm into these with four different ingredients in tiny proportions. This makes it easier to test recipes before scaling the recipe to inventory.
