Contrary to most previous reviews, I actually paid full price for it. I was afraid to order yellow as I have a Mediterranean blue and yellow kitchen but this shade is perfect. It's not washed out or too light yellow to slow you down, and it's not a dull mustard yellow. it's somewhere in between the two, closer to cooked French mustard but not as light yellow. It's bright enough to tell it's yellow, but subdued enough to complement the deep blue next to it. Perfect bowl for pasta or salad to finish off your meal. The smaller plate is more in line with the size I use for dining. Large plates are BIG and hold a ton of food, with a slightly curved rim to accommodate juices. I will serve them roast, fried potatoes or cake. Not exactly a complete meal for one. This would be ideal for a starter kitchen or a family kitchen. I wouldn't use them for fine dining, too many flaws and indentations, jagged edges that don't align when stacked. But for my kitchen, that just adds to the charm. I'll add blue later.
