First off, let me say that this eyepiece fits my Sony A77ii, but that's the only good thing I can say about it. It not only differs in size and shape from the original, but is also made of a completely different material - a much harder plastic that offers no cushioning whatsoever. I bought my A77ii new a few years ago. The rubber eyepiece recently developed a tear in the rubber so I needed a replacement and ordered this one thinking it would be functionally equivalent. No, that is not so. The original eyepiece is a soft hollow rubber, which is smoother and softer to the touch and has a certain "give". This one is made from a much harder hard plastic, and when I look through the viewfinder it feels like I'm just banging my glasses on the hard plastic, not the soft rubber. There really is no pillow effect. Also, this is lower on the camera body (see photos) and as a result I had to adjust the position of my eyes in relation to the camera. Sending it back is not worth my time and energy but if it were I would have it back in no time.
