This has been the trade standard for decades. I only bought the whole band because with the refill prices it makes more sense to replace the band than to repair it. It's easy to use, automatic, and fits my hand better than "thick" bands. The 1" blade allows you to pull the tape without assistance, allowing you to snag on wood you can't reach the end of. I miss the white rectangle on the front, it was handy to mark a few lengths there and then wipe them off with your thumb when you're done cutting. I will continue to purchase Stanley tapes as needed.
