Torn between buying this clamp and another clamp here on Amazon which appears to be very small but much cheaper. I needed something that would hold the wood securely as I was creating a tapered clip for the back of an Adirondack chair that has the slats wider at the top than at the bottom to give it a fan shape. These clamps worked perfectly for holding the wood securely on a cone jig, which I made by running a cedar board through a table saw. The results were excellent and I think the slightly higher price tag for these heavy duty clamps was justified. Also when using clamp clamps in a table saw mount I strongly recommend vertical clamps instead of horizontal clamps to avoid hitting the saw guide or whatever. The following images show an example of how these clamps can be used. I made a tapered cutter out of cedar to create the fan shape you see on the back of a typical Adirondack chair. The already cut board is shown clamped. The clamps held the board securely as it was fed through the table saw and delivered great results in a safe manner.
