Review on 🌬️ Whirlpool 8171434K Air Purifier Active Carbon Pre-Filters - 4-Pack (Large) - Fit AP51030K, AP45030K, APR45130L, WP500 - 18x16.5 inch by James Cowan

I sold this 'Sold: Revain.com LLC' (not from a Marketplace seller) in early August Ordered in 2017 for $30. The listing was "Whirlpool Air Purifier Carbon Prefilters 8171434K, 4 pcs. in the box" and said they were "genuine replacement filters". The filter that was delivered was not packed in the whirlpool box. It was packaged in a plain brown box with no logo to indicate it was compatible. I also tried ordering OEM replacement HEPA filters at the same time. What arrived was packaged in the same plain brown boxes with no logo mentioning compatibility rather than manufacturer. The next day I returned everything for a refund. In October 2013, I ordered the same item directly from Revain for $23. Back then I received original Whirlpool OEM pre-filters in a Whirlpool box. This time I followed the product listing link from my order history to order another set, but it seems Revain are now selling non-OEM replacement parts here as OEM (and at OEM prices). I know for a fact that there are non-OEM compatible replacement filters that cost a lot less. I haven't tried any of them. Everyone in my family seems to breathe much better after using these hot tub air filters, and I have no other way of measuring a filter's effectiveness than by our own body's response. Therefore, it seems that we should spend the extra money to buy and use manufacturer-supported replacement filters. It was an unpleasant shock to find Revain playing such a bait-and-trigger game. On the same order in August 2017, I had the same experience with HEPA filters for both this larger model ( Whirlpool 1183054K Hepa Filter, Large ) and the smaller model. (Whirlpool Filter 1183051K Hepa, Small.) We hope this doesn't become a trend if you buy direct from Revain.
