I bought these mugs because I was tired of my cortados getting cold in single wall mugs and they felt a little classier than your standard double wall all glass mugs. The big plus was that they were advertised as dishwasher safe; difficult to clean by hand? No, but there is one more thing to do in the morning. I was a little skeptical of the claim that they actually help with milk art (virtually every double walled glass or ceramic mug has the same bottom shape), but why not? On the plus side, the cups look great and are physically heavy, giving your Cortado a nice weight, and the cup radius is perfect for holding a good layer of Cortado cream. The double wall keeps the temperature outside the mug comfortable, even when you place the mug on the mug warmer and pour a shot of espresso and then frothed milk into the mug. The mug is small enough to be comfortably held in one hand, although it doesn't have a handle. Cons: Calling this mug dishwasher safe is ridiculous. Within one rinse in the dishwasher the gold plating on the base began to wear off and even having mostly hand washed since then I now have a mug that has an almost entirely silver base. It's still an attractive mug with a silver base, but it definitely looks different and not as advertised. Also, double wall is better than nothing, but if you're used to vacuuming double wall cups, you're going to have a rude awakening with them. Compared to the set of double wall glass travel mugs I have, the difference in temperature is immediately noticeable even when the mug is preheated with hot water or a mug warmer. Not the end of the world, but if you drink coffee for more than a minute, it ends up being lukewarm. Overall I would buy them again: Yes, probably. Am I disappointed with how quickly the finish is fading? Definitive.
