I bought these specifically for camping. We took them on our recent trip (3 days 2 nights) and they were perfect for our simple kitchen decor and setup. Bright enough to see but dark enough not to slip through the air. We even got a few additions to it! They appear to be waterproof and we haven't had any issues with them. As for the remote control, you need to be directly in the light to use it. I would have preferred without the remote as my kids lose things to us. There is a button on the battery box to control the light, but that was rather a hassle. But for the price they fit, and the other features are an added bonus.
