I bought an RTIC and thermal cooler (aka stainless steel thermos for 12oz soda cans) Fits: Screw the plastic ring onto the glass. This holds the glass securely, even if it has a slightly smaller diameter than the inside of the refrigerator. • Thermos: To put a glass in a fridge thermos, simply place the glass in the fridge. Ergonomics: • RTIC: The smooth plastic ring on top of the RTIC cooler is not as wide as the stainless steel ring. Part, the smooth finish of the stainless steel, and the lack of a rubber pad make it difficult to hold with dry hands. • Thermos flask: The fridge thermos flask is a bit thinner and has a wide rubber ring at the top. This helps keep the cooler in place • RTIC: The thick plastic ring is higher on the can (compared to a thermal cooler) so less of the can is exposed. When I drank from a can, my bottom lip pressed against a thick plastic ring. .• Thermos: This cooler is not as tall as the RTIC, so most of the can is exposed, giving your lips a little more room to make contact with the can. Although most of the can is exposed, this cooler actually covers most of the can with a functional (hollow) stainless steel part. This is because the RTIC has a thick plastic ring and the stainless threaded part has no cavity between the inner chamber and the outer surface (see photo). RTIC cooler. Performance: • I didn't notice a noticeable difference (subjectively), but if you think about it, who sips a 12 ounce beverage for 3 hours.
